Dark and groovy soul

Beady Belle is one of Norway’s great internationally recognized bands, playing to packed venues on the European jazz circuit. Their latest release At Welding Bridge is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed album Belvedere. Inspired by the slow tremolo, dark woodwinds and deep drums, the result has a David Lynch-like feel that allures listeners into a new landscape. With her warm intimate voice, vocalist Beate Lech is the band’s natural focal point. Soundwise, Beady Belle have moved from Saturday evening to Sunday morning, but
this doesn’t mean they can’t be enjoyed on a Saturday night at Folken. Live, the they open up with more playfulness, improvisation, groove and dynamism which is catchy, seductive and funky.

Erik Holm - drums, Jørn Øien - keyboards, Marius Reksjø - electricity – and bass, Tommy Kristiansen - guitars and Beate S. Lech - vocals
