Yellowjackets feat. Will Kennedy

The legendary quartet, Yellowjackets has been at the top of the fusion scene since the early 1980's. The band played at MaiJazz in 1999, and many have waited patiently for their return. Since 1999 they have released six albums, five of them Grammy nominated. The 2010 edition of Yellowjackets consists of the four prominent musicians keyboardist Russell Ferrante, saxophonist Bob Mintzer, bassist Jimmy Haslip and drummer William Kennedy. Together they form a quartet that has carved its own niche in jazz.  In the early 1980's the band was inspired by the r & b and jazz of that era. The 2010 edition of Yellowjackets offers a polished sound, technical brilliance and routine. This is simply melodic fusion of best quality performed by four musicians, all star on their own instruments. These guys have been around for almost 30 years.
